Down memory lane.
Where the streets have a tendency to be a little complicated.
Ok maybe a lot.
Than again, you’re a man.
You always got lost,
And had trouble asking for directions.
Although I’ve always gave you all the instructions
And tools you ever needed.
Still you managed to lose me.
Remember me telling you?
Google my heart.
Or better yet why not use Map Quest.
It's less complicated.
Starting point would be all your insecurities and your past habits.
With the final destination being my heart.
I apologize for the rough and hazardous road conditions.
With all fairness though,
I do recall warning you.
Telling you that no one has successfully made this journey.
Many have tried,
Including yourself.
Anyways back to the journey.
First Street on your right is Life lane.
You maybe familiar with this street.
We traveled it together many times before.
Remember all the dreams, goals and aspirations it contained?
Not to mention the life plans.
However drive by all that.
You should be use to it by now.
Look for Delusional Drive.
Where I use to hang out often,
Waiting for you to get your shit together.
While you always cruised with your boys
On Chillin’ Crestent.
Stroll up until you hit the little corner photo shop called Twisted Elegance.
Turn left there, on that narrow Avenue called good times.
Where our best moments use to happen.
Where we use to park our troubles,
And kissed the world away.
But the sound of the ignition
Always brought back our reality.
Where I was the good girl,
And you were playing the role of the bad boy.
And how I loved me my bad boys back then.
But you knew, just like I knew
I wasn't ready for you.
Although I drove away solo.
You were the driving force that drove me away.
You said you looked and looked, and drove and drove.
But you could never find your way back to me all these years.
That's cause you were not ready to drive back home silly.
But now that you traded in your shinny spinning rims, for shinny morals.
Got off cruise control, long enough to take hold of your life.
I say welcome home homie.
The garage has been vacant for too long.
And the drive just hasn't been the same without you.
“Twisted Elegance”
Some loves are not tested by time, titles or even common sense. Although I can't be with you, my love for you will always be as constant as the sun and moon.
