First Bite

He often
Engaged her in head games
Twisting and toying
With her tiny frame
As if though she was his left over canjeero breakfast.

His touches
Burned like uunsi (incent)
Forever releasing
Her sweet innocent fragrance
And replacing it with an ugly reality.

If truth betold
She use to smell like gardenian
After a rain storm
And was as iniviting
As shaah and xalwa. (sweets and tea)

At least that’s what her uncle use to tell her
Whenever he overindulged
In her six year old nectar.

He would
Drink her leisurely
Savoring each nibble
Suductively
As if having his morning tea.

She definitely
Tasted like a forbidden fruit
But just like biting into
a unripe
cambe (mango) or seytuun (guava)
the second
third
even the forth bite
seemed so much sweetie
than the first one.
