Happy Nowrus

“Words are my weapons

♥ Happy Nowrus

To all my Iranian folks

My friend Shannon and I

So last night I went out to go celebrate the Iranian 1389 New Year! Happy Nowrus to all my Iranian people!

This ultra happening party was held at the beautiful Le Parc Banquet Hall in Tornhill. Some serious $$$ was required to attend this gala. A gift from my sweet Iranian friend Marshima. Thank you my dear!

The venue was absolutely beautiful, the people extremely friendly, the food simply divine, and the music – well the music just made you wanna dance your troubles away.

Oh and did I ever! My goodness I can’t remember the last time I danced so inhabited. I honestly had the time of my life – occupying the center of the dance floor majority of the night, which is so unlike me.

The company I was rolling was just purely delightful. Thanks for showing me a wonderful time ladies!

I honestly have to say, as far as people go, Iranian folks are extremely welcoming. I was dancing, talking to and enjoying the company of perfect strangers who acted the part of long lost friend.

Symbolic figure who usually starts off the festivities. Dancing with him was a BLAST!

The whole experience of observing a culture unlike mine was extremely pleasant. I am already looking forward to my next Iranian outing. Perhaps to go sample more of the yummy treats they were serving.

Hey at least I got to leave with a platter full yummy treats at the end the night.

These cookies were to die for

Also, a table known as the Haft Seen, a major part of the Iranian New Year ritual, was set up at the front of the hotel. Seven symbolic items are spread on the table: garlic, lentils, apples, vinegar, eggs, pudding and coins and many other variety of foods.

Cheers to an AMAZING night!

xoxo
