Would you love me any less?
If I told you I can see your soul
But never your face
For I am blind?
Would you think I was lying to you?
If I told I can hear the sound of your laughter
Although I am legally deaf.
Do you know at night when you sleep
And I slumber
I often climb mountains and run marathons?
But during the day you limit and label me as the legless man.
What you fail to understand is
I may not have hands to hold you and cuddle you.
But surly my heart can hug you more securely.
Though you have vision
You can’t see what I see
And that makes you the blind one.
And although you have hearing,
You’re hard of hearing
For you never hear the silent words I speak.
And really what good are your legs?
If you merely walk this earth void of love and understanding
For those who appear to be different
But are really the same as every one else.
