I dreamed that Darfur genocide never happened,
And a million people did not lose their lives.
I dreamed that Bush was never born,
And Iraq was never invaded for ill-gotten gains of oil.
I dreamed that woman in China were happy to be pregnant with a girl,
Instead of trying to make arrangement on how to abort them.
I dreamed that the people of my country (Somali) were united,
Instead of divided and torn by two flags.
I dreamed that light skin complexion did not determine human worth,
Eliminating needless deaths from mercury poisoning found in bleaching products.
I dreamed that woman of all races uplifted their sisters,
Instead being the ones to knock them down.
I dreamed that words such as Nigger, Chink, Paki, and White-trash
Were removed from peoples vocabulary.
Along with bitch, hoe and s**t.
I dreamed that Nelson Mandela was not falsely imprisoned for 27 years.
I dreamed all the wrongly convicted individuals sitting in prison were also freed.
I dreamed that Malcolm X was not assassinated for finding out the truth about Islam.
I dreamed that people seeked their own truth about Islam,
Instead of listening to post 9-11 propaganda's on CNN.
I dreamed that in one breath, all the pedophile of the world disappeared.
And children could roam neighborhoods with their innocence attached.
I dreamed that a child never went to bed hungry.
While others over eat and could not move because they were too full.
I dreamed that the colors blue, and red were restored to being just that; a color.
Eradicating the blood's and cribs once and for all.
I dreamed that I did not encounter taxi drivers,
Who use to be doctors, engineers and teachers in their country of origin.
I dreamed that people woke up, and saw the American dream for what it is.
Just a dream, unless your one of the privileged.
Honestly speaking, how many Michael Jordan's and Oprah's can truly exist in America?
I dreamed that my level of intelligence was not found inferior,
Because I did not graduate from Harvard University.
I dreamed that in pursuit of higher learning,
I did not sign a pact with the devil (OSAP)
So deep in the hole, I do not know how to get out.
But most of all,
I dreamed that Martin Luther King lived long enough to have another dream.
I dreamed, that you dreamed, what I dreamed.
Making that dream a reality, instead of just a dream.
